Pose of the Day

Standing Hand-to-Big-Toe Hold (Utthita Hasta Padangusthasana)

Day: 296 • Date: October 20, 2026 • Focus: Balance & Stability • Level: Intermediate • Category: Balance

Try it for: 3–5 breaths each side

Keep it simple: Standing Hand-to-Big-Toe Hold. Stand tall first, then extend the leg without rounding. Let shoulders relax. 3–5 breaths each side is plenty. Play with it (no pressure). If it feels good: Open the leg out to the side for 3 breaths.

  • Make it easier: Use a strap or keep knee bent.
  • Make it stronger: Open the leg out to the side for 3 breaths.
  • Props: Strap / wall

Listen to your body. If anything hurts (sharp pain, pinching, numbness), back off or skip it. If you're working with an injury or are pregnant, check with a qualified professional.
